Facebook Friendship Page is Creepy

This new Facebook application has brought creepiness to a new extreme. As everyone who uses Facebook knows, it is not hard to find out a lot about complete strangers on the internet. Everyone should set privacy settings on their profiles to begin with, but even then people who want to can still find out a lot about you. One day here at this Amherst Massachusetts Insurance agency, the other interns and I were on Facebook updating our page when we started to play around with the new Friendship page. It dawned on us that there was a new level of freaky, and Facebook had finally reached it!

If you were worried about parents, ex-significant others, or employers looking at your profile before… now it’s easier for them to find your relationships! Ahhh! With this new application, anyone can type in two names and see a picture of those two people and all of their Facebook history including wall posts, events attended, and status comments. Whoever created this should have thought twice before allowing the world to become stalkers. It is scary how the internet is taking over our lives as it is, and now it’s becoming easier for people to view their friends, family, and even friends of friends with a few key strokes and the click of a mouse.

Don’t post anything online that you don’t want anyone to see!
